The British Journal of Photography has published two articles about photographers using the iPad and Apple's App Store to make money from their work. In one, publisher Michael Mack explains the logic and challenges of producing photography books for tablets. Meanwhile National Geographic photographer Michael Nichols explains why an attempt to update his website ended up with him selling an app through Apple's store. (BJoP via PetaPixel)

Digital Editions - The different formats are still an issue for me - I'm surprised a lot of photographers aren't converting their books to a secure PDF and selling directly via their own sites. PDF's work in iBooks, Android and all desktop/laptop computers and seem a safe way to go until standards settle down. Hudson Manilla, John G Moore and Ben DiCosta are a few photographers who come to mind who have done this successfully with recent digital book releases.

I hope this is yet another article promoting a purchase of an iPad or some other product that Amazon will make money off.

He makes some good points. As usual, it's about monetising what they have, and who can blame them? If they don't, someone else will. Plus if you like it enough digital, you may want it on your wall. I think there's room for it all......
